HAPPY (LATE) ANNIVERSARY!
Hey what?! (checks calender) It's been a YEAR since this site first started?! Happy 1st anniversary to Dazai's Fun Palace everyone.
I can believe it's been this long since my fuckass son was born 🥹 I am very proud. It's been awhile, huh? I'm even starting to feel nostalgic. This site has grown alongside me, and my mental health has improved drastically! (Due to the magic of friendship.. Corny)
When this site first started, I just thought html was a neat hobby to get into for the summer, after the whole rentry fiasco. (if yk, yk.) It was a hot Hong Kong Style™ summer afternoon at my family's new, under renovation apartment. I was there with my mother and the designers. Ah, I still remember it. (I feel 50 years old typing this.) Around this time, I was REALLY into rentry-making, like, you could classify it as an art. But I started to find Rentry a little bit too limiting for making a handcoded custom personal page. Then, I discovered Neocities through the power of Pinterest. The first site I discovered was Sugarangel. I thought it was lovely! (And it is!) -And that I wanted to make one of my own. With nothing to do, I started going through the W3schools HTML tutorial and the rest is history.
I didn't think I would still be interested in coding now. My site versions vary a LOT with the aesthetics, and now I've done a home run and gone back to the shitty rainbow aesthetic!
Back to when this site first started, I was real fucking depressed! (Due to a certain someone, they know who they are /reference) Also because I hated myself, -I still kinda do but it fluctuates. I'm much more self-confident! To put it into perspective, I planned how I was going to kill myself alright. I'm much more mentally well now thankfully :)
I still cringe at my old blog posts/ site versions by how immature I was. (and am) I've grown so much this year, and it's partly because of this site!
You all are so kind, thank you for all the kind messages I've received on my guestbook and all my 160+ followers currently!
Thank you for always supporting Dazai's Fun Palace. Nekoweb and Dazai's Fun Palace will always hold a special place in my heart. A very shitty one but a special place nonetheless.
This site will continue to grow and improve as I grow older. I will always strive to decorate this place like crazy! MORE and MORE! That's what my GOAT Hanasato Minori says.
